The Worldshoot® is the highest form of competition in the shooting sports - the equivalent of our Olympics - every sport of significance has a main event - it’s a competition of the best of the best. Each country fields their top competitors and over the course of one week and 30+ stages (varied courses of fire) the winners emerge.
All of the shooting skills relevant for our sport are tested including: Strong Hand/Weak Hand, shooting on the move, multiple moving targets, prone shooting, distance targets, etc. The qualification process in most countries lasts 2 years. After that (the two National Tournaments in the U.S. each year, e.g.) shooters are ranked by their placements. The top placing competitors are awarded a slot to compete in the Worldshoot® — the only way to attend the Worldshoot® is to win a slot in your country.
