This is because of the amazing way you brought a group of strangers of different ages, sex and background together and helped us find a common purpose, structure and goal. I had the opportunity to work with Jay for six months, and he was generous with his knowledge, time and feedback from our very first meeting, as well as, in between our meetings. His myriad of personal and business experiences over the last three decades shines through as he coached me. He gained my trust and respect almost instantaneously, which is NOT a normal response from me, because of his high level of transparency and brutal honesty from the moment we started meeting. Jay has the uncanny ability to quickly identify and understand the personality types of those with whom he works, allowing him to get a pulse on individual priorities and motivations and to accurately assess the group dynamic.
In my case, Jay’s ability to truly “know” the group and the individual members helped him to foster a greater level of connectedness and vulnerability within the group. Jay was also able to educate the group on various frameworks and models of human interaction/interpersonal dynamics, as well personal development tools and systems, which helped the group to analyze some of the personal and professional challenges that we’ve faced, and view them in a different light.
Jay’s coaching style stood out. When he coached me, he was able to understand the issues that I faced and connect on a human level. Jay was able to push me and challenge me while still exuding empathy.
